Robert Lewis Wilson, 75, of Mt. Ephraim, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on January 8, 2026, at Samaritan Hospice Center, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Robert, known as Bob, Bobby, “Pillbox”, Dad, or Pop-pop to friends and family, was born on March 11, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Howard and Margaret Wilson. Bob spent his life surrounded by close friends and family, enjoying fishing down the shore and hunting, camping, and hiking in the mountains.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) at Fort Riley, KS. Following his military service, Bob began an apprenticeship as a carpenter at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, where he worked for 44 years.
Bob played many sports growing up, which helped fuel his lifelong passion for athletics and Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time on the course with friends, family, and coworkers. When his children were younger, Bob found great joy in coaching youth sports, always encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and having fun. He loved playing his lucky numbers in the lottery and rarely missed a chance to enjoy a good day out with the people he cared about.
A devoted Eagles fan, Bob was a season ticket holder for many years at Veterans Stadium, where he created countless memories cheering on his team. One of his favorite phrases was a heartfelt and enthusiastic, “Go Birds!”. A true handyman, Bob worked hard, wasn’t afraid to get his hands dirty, and was always willing to help others. He was well known for hosting Eagles games, barbecuing on his charcoal grill, and spending time with his children and grandchildren by the pool.
Bob was a proud husband, parent, grandparent, uncle, and friend who loved good conversation and had a gift for connecting with people from all walks of life.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Denise “Dee” Wilson (nee Farrell), and his beloved children: Crystal Harper; Kimberly Johnston (Kevin); Holly Van Blarcom (Ron); Michael Harper; Robert Wilson (Brooke); Bret Wilson; James Hasher (Tara); Jackie LeCompte (Drew); and Nick Hasher. He is also survived by his 28 cherished grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and also by his loving sister, Doris Dovan (the late Chuck).
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Margaret Wilson, and his brothers, Lee Wilson (survived by his wife, Mary Beth) and Howard Wilson (survived by his wife, Kathy).
Our celebration of his life will be private, and the Interment is to be determined at a later date.
